POSITION TITLE:

Edinboro Preschool Speech and Language Pathologist (7:50 AM – 3:10 PM M-Th, 7:50 AM – 2:00 PM F)

DESCRIPTION:

This is a full-time, exempt, 187 day position. The Speech and Language Pathologist works with children between the ages of 3 and 6 to provide necessary support services and enhance student’s speech and language development. A SLP provides instruction in speech and language production, speech reading, auditory training and the use (pragmatics) of spoken English. He/she is responsible for working with classroom teachers to provide a supportive program for students which meets their communication needs. Plan, prepare and present lessons to address individual student goals, working with the Director in guiding parents toward identifying their child’s strengths and weaknesses and in programming for them accordingly through the IEP process, attend in-service and departmental meetings to participate in decision-making and to maintain current knowledge in the field and to gain understanding of new techniques and methodologies in speech and language instruction.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree with PA Department of Education Certification in Speech and Language Impaired, and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) is required. Master’s Degree with PDE certification in Speech and Language Impaired, dual certification in Hearing Impaired preferred. Experience working with deaf and hard of hearing children is also preferred.

SIGNING REQUIREMENTS:

The Sign Language Proficiency Interview for the position is “Advanced.” The minimum level accepted at
hire is “Novice Plus.”

CLEARANCES REQUIRED:

PA Criminal Background, PA Child Abuse, and FBI Clearance required. Physical, TB and Drug Screen also required.
